DuPont Human Rights Position Statement


DuPont is committed to the protection and advancement of human rights wherever we operate. DuPont's support for human rights is based on our commitment to our core values of Safety and Health, Environmental Stewardship, Ethical Behavior, and Respect for People.

We commit to conduct our business in an ethical and responsible manner that supports and respects the protection of human rights. We work to identify and do business with partners who aspire to conduct their business in a similar manner. Compliance with this commitment and applicable laws is the responsibility of every employee and contractor acting on our behalf and a condition of their employment or contract.

DuPont is advancing a robust and comprehensive compliance program for third party risk management. All third parties doing business with DuPont are subject to this program which involves different levels of due diligence based on compliance risks.

The Third-Party Program is designed to assess and monitor compliance of our suppliers and commercial partners with labor, employment, human rights, safety, anti-corruption, and business ethics. In addition, we implement programs that encourage and support suppliers in improving the social and environmental impacts of their businesses.

At DuPont, we ensure that our products are manufactured under conditions that respect the well-being of the people who make them, the rights of the people living in the communities around our facilities and those who may be affected by these operations.

Any employee, contractor, or third-party business partner is able to raise any concern or make an allegation on human rights abuse or any other alleged violation of our Code of Conduct through our global Ethics and Compliance Hotline. We maintain a clear policy prohibiting retaliation against anyone raising a good faith complaint to the Ethics and Compliance Hotline.

Our commitment to ethics operates in conjunction with our Core Values, our product stewardship programs, our regulatory compliance program, our Supplier Code of Conduct and our endorsement and commitment to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the  Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Global Compact.

Child and Forced Labor and Human Trafficking

DuPont will not tolerate the use of child or forced labor, slavery or human trafficking in any of its global operations or facilities. We will not tolerate the exploitation of children, or the trafficking, physical punishment, abuse, or involuntary servitude of any worker.

Similarly, DuPont will not tolerate any recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of people through force, fraud or deception with the aim to exploiting them for profit in any shape or form.

We expect our suppliers and contractors with whom we do business to uphold the same standards.


DuPont will pay wages that meet or exceed the legally required wages or, where no wage law exists, the local industry standard.

DuPont will not tolerate any recruitment fees charged to employees or any recruitment and other associated fees that could result in any debt bondage to employees or those seeking employment with the Company.

We expect our third parties including suppliers and contractors with whom we do business to uphold the same standards.

Working Hours

DuPont will comply with applicable local, state, and national laws and industry practices on working hours.

We not only encourage but expect our suppliers to be similarly committed to protecting the rights of these vulnerable groups.


We believe that all injuries and occupational illnesses, as well as safety and environmental incidents are preventable. We promote and advocate for off-the-job safety for our employees around the world and affirm our core value of Safety through our commitment to zero injuries.

We have established and maintain appropriate procedures to evaluate, select and monitor third parties including suppliers and contractors based on our core values, human rights, and our  Supplier Code of Conduct.
